 August Wilson was born on April 27, 1945 Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania First play was Black Bart and the Sacred Hills The first play he ever acted in was Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The play was performed at Yale University. From this, Wilson got his start in theater and dramatics. Of his many works, he has received much recognition for his plays regarding African American struggles. Fences is one of those plays in a sequel of Ten plays. |
